FINAL FANTASY X is the story of Tidus who, after miraculously surviving the destruction of his homeland, awakens among ruins and thereafter meets a young woman named Yuna. As a summoner, Yuna must travel to distant temples and learn the secret art of summoning aeons-powerful spirits of yore, in order to defeat "Sin." FINAL FANTASY X features the first English voiceovers for a FINAL FANTASY title and has a distinct Asian influence, bringing a fresh feel to the characters, music, settings and story.

In addition to the game's voiceover dialogue and fluid gameplay-to-full-motion-video transitions, FINAL FANTASY X offers fully 3D environments that seamlessly integrate real-time movement with battles, allowing players to walk around and engage in battles on the same field map screen. Life-like, high-polygon, motion-captured characters designed by Tetsuya Nomura bring realism to the screen. As seen in previous FINAL FANTASY titles, players will be able to enjoy new mini-games, such as mastering the sport of blitzball and the Al Bhed language. FINAL FANTASY X carries a newly designed battle system with a unique character development system using the "Sphere Grid."

GTA 5 Sales Hits $1 Billion in Three Days

Take-Two announced this morning that Grand Theft Auto V generated more than $1 billion in retail sales during its first three days on sale. “We believe this marks the fastest that any entertainment property, including video games and feature films, has reached this significant milestone,” Take Two noted in its announcement.

"Grand Theft Auto is a cultural phenomenon and Rockstar Games continues to redefine what can be achieved in interactive entertainment," said Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick. "We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to Grand Theft Auto V."
Earlier this week, Rockstar announced that GTA 5 made $800 million in one day. Analysts previously estimated that the game would earn $1 billion in its first month, but it appears they underestimated just how excited people are to visit Los Santos.

Gran Turismo 6

Gran Turismo 6 calls its 1967 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 a “unique, saloon-bodied pick-up, from a distinctly American idea.” I’ve always liked the El Camino and I’m pleased to finally see one in a GT game, especially over some Suzuki Frappuccino developer Polyphony has not yet immortalised. Coupe utilities are cool. They’re the mullets of cars. Business up front, party out the back.

However, the El Camino is not unique. In 1957 the Ford Ranchero brought the coupe utility body style to the US two year prior to the El Camino’s 1959 debut. It wasn’t a distinctly American idea, either. The coupe utility was invented in Australia back in 1934. Gran Turismo 6, in this case, made a minor botch up.

Unfortunately, not all GT6’s errors are this trivial.
Make no mistake: Gran Turismo 6 is, by most measures, a remarkable racing game. It’s impossibly good looking for a PlayStation 3 game, the handling is spectacular, and the sheer variety of track and driving content it boasts is nothing short of show-stopping. It’s a marked improvement on GT5. Beneath it all, however, familiar old series gripes relating to damage modelling, sound, and a dated car list return to partially undermine everything developer Polyphony does so right, and they’re gripes that are persistently nibbling away at the foundations of this genre titan.

Need for Speed Rival

Need for Speed Rivals captures the adrenaline and intensity of the street's ultimate rivalry between cops and racers in a stunning open road environment. Built on the Frostbite 3 game engine, Need for Speed Rivals allows gamers play as either a cop or racer, where each side of the law has its own set of high stakes challenges, rewards and consequences. As a racer, the goal is to become infamous for taking risks behind the wheel and capturing your most intense escapes on video for the world to see. The more cops players evade, the more Speed Points they collect, enabling them to unlock new cars and items. Keep raising the stakes race after race to become an ever-more valuable target to the cops -- but risk losing it all if busted. As a cop, players work together as part of a team in pursuit of racers, earning prominence and rising in the ranks of the Police Force with every bust. Achieving higher ranks unlocks new police-only cars and more powerful pursuit tech.
